Securitisation/Structured Finance

Perchstone & Graeys remains committed to providing premium legal services in diverse areas of law. This includes proffering novel and creative solutions to our client’s financing and structuring needs and the optimal financing structure for each scenario.

The firm also has an historical involvement in the development of securitisation. In 2008, with the onset of the global financial crisis, the theme of the firm’s Annual Law Series focussed on Legal and Related Challenges in Funding Infrastructural Projects in Emerging Economies, leading us on the path of eventual involvement in a draft Securitization Bill, subsequently presented before the Nigerian National Assembly (Nigeria’s legislature). In 2009, the focus was on the place of Securitization as an alternative financing technique. It was against this background that a private committee was set up to assist with the legal and regulatory framework to support securitisation with its reports.
