Ifedayo is the current Head of Chambers and Practice Development (Lagos Office).

Ifedayo was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008 and started her career in a reputable law firm where she was exposed to the world of intellectual property, company secretarial responsibilities, legal drafting and review alongside requisite administrative duties. Since she joined the firm, while capitalizing on her previous work experience with diverse organisations, Ifedayo has further explored the corporate commercial world by assisting and advising clients (start up or existing) in their corporate restructuring, regulatory and industrial compliance, labour relations, legal advisory services, documentary and agreement draft and review and corporate commercial services.

Ifedayo is the firm’s team lead, Corporate Commercial and Company Secretarial Groups and has especial experience in M&As, corporate restructurings, regulatory compliance, labour relations and corporate commercial advisory services. Her skills in research and development have also been greatly harnessed as a member of the editorial team of the firm’s quarterly newsletter and contributor to the following publications:

  • Employment Law Review (Edition 5, 6 and 7);
  • World Bank Doing Business Research Project (2011 to 2014); and
  • Overseas Corruption Project (2011 till date).

With excellent qualifications and a strong desire to excel, Ifedayo’s unique ideas and fresh energy is evidenced in her result and every project she is a part of. She holds a master degree in law from the prestigious University of Lagos in Nigeria and stands today a member of the association of professional negotiators, mediators. She has further interests in multiple areas of law to which she hopes to break into.

  • Legal Advisers (sell side) to Vono Products Plc in the on-going merger between Vono Products Plc with a market capitalization of about N636, 925,836.79 and over 14,000 shareholders, and Vitafoam Nigeria Plc with a market capitalisation of about N5, 493,852,000.00 and over 29,000 shareholders; two corporate giants in the foam manufacturing industry in Nigeria, both listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
  • Legal advisers to the local and foreign companies on the demerger of their Nigerian subsidiary and the company's subsequent listing on the NYSE Euronext in Paris with a market capitalisation in excess of €288m. Working with Herbert Smith Freehills as advisers to both companies, we furnished well considered opinions on, examined and reviewed the applicable legislations, policies, national and tax regulations, schemes, procedures, risks and assessments relating to the admission of the shares of the Company to trading on NYSE Euronext. We also conducted extensive due diligence and advised on the preparation of the legal opinion and documents leading up to the listing on the NYSE Euronext.
  • Local counsel in the divestment, acquisition and subsequent restructuring of the Nigerian subsidiary of this French multi-national catering company involving the sale and transfer of shares valued at N891, 826, 383. Working with Herbert Smith Freehills, we advised in relation to the detailed terms of the transaction structure and documentation, including the Share Sale and Purchase Agreement and other transactional documents.
